IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Francis York Morgan
Canon: Deadly Premonition
OU/AU/OC: OU
Canon Point: Within Greenvale; Anna, Becky, and Diane have been killed; the Red Seeds Murder case has not been solved. (Up to A New Guide in the History link below.)
History: The DP Wikia. Needless to say, there are spoilers.
Personality: The first impression that Agent York gives off is one of cool calculation, of somebody that's battle-hardened and in control of any situation, if not slightly eccentric. Spend more than 10 minutes with him, though, and that quickly becomes a man who might very well be mentally unstable. His primary delusion seems to be that of "Zach", an imaginary entity that he constantly and openly talks to, be it for advice, an aside, or 80's movie trivia. When pressured, York will claim that Zach is just "a friend", and refuse to go more on the subject... but it still doesn't stop him from saying something snarky to nobody in full earshot of whomever he's disparaging.

He also seems to be fairly unable to read the emotion of a room, or if he can, not particularly care. This is best exemplified within the game when he takes the Greenvale Sheriff and Deputy to dinner, and calmly discusses past gruesome serial murder cases he was assigned to as if it was the weather, not quite caring that George and Emily are nearly retching over their meals. On the flip side, he takes inappropriately lighthearted tones in the most bleak of situations, like joking to Zach about nothing in particular... while bound to a chair with a burlap sack over his head, having been kidnapped by an insane police officer.

There's also the fact(s) that he constantly introduces himself in the exact same way, is extremely exacting about his coffee (and food in general), and has a few certain poses and gestures that he repeats, like shrugging, tapping on his tie, or holding his fingers to his temple while thinking.

But past the surface quirkiness lies a true agent of the FBI, a man who has a strong sense of justice and a rigid moral code, one who's willing to, when assigned a case or given a mission, go to any lengths and endure as much hardship as need be to see it through. He's also confident, and almost aggravatingly so, tending to give brutal honesty when it might not exactly be needed, and requesting to go on dangerous missions without backup just because he knows he's able to.

All of this bundled together makes FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan (please, call him York, it's what everyone calls him) a complex, almost impenetrable character, one that will take time for somebody to pierce through and understand.

But a cup of good coffee might help.

Strengths: York's main strength comes in his ability to "profile", which is some unexplained variant on clairvoyance. When in an area tied to an important event (a murder, a chase, some kind of conflict), he can pick up brief, fuzzy flashes of said event. With concentration, finding evidence, and a cigarette, a much clearer image can be ascertained. Note that these clips only last for about 30 seconds, so there can still be some information missed. He's also able to use coffee (and only coffee) as another medium for visions, but this is more for gaining vague clues on how to progress in an investigation or for quick fortunes.

Beyond that, his FBI training gives him superb marksmanship (not that he'll have a gun or a way to use it), superb detective skills (finding evidence, following trails, interrogating people), a masterful poker face, and a good amount of physical strength and stamina. Notably, he can stay awake for a few days, more so with good coffee, and suffer no physical illness.

Weaknesses: Beyond York's general eccentricity and possible insanity, York also has a bit of a problem with self-assertiveness when it comes to flirting with females. When he's not in professional mode, he gets awkward and shy when trying to build relationships.

There's also the fact that, as good as his profiling is, it's going to be hampered a lot because of all of the other magic flying around, so he won't be able to get as clear of an image, or as much as he used to.
Possessions: A pack of cigarettes (POLICE brand), a lighter (like he'll be able to use it), a suit (changed to match his new body), his FBI badge (changed with his new face, and possibly whatever FBI analogue there is in Canterlot).
Pony/Animal Type: Earth Pony
Cutie Mark: A steaming cup of coffee with the letters "F K" swirling around.
Pony Picture: (No, his tail isn't actually a necktie. But it's the same coloration.)

SAMPLES

Third Person: From the July test drive: York meets a dragon.
